Visitor.....

my dear neighbor from Florida is coming for the week.  She told me she wanted to get out of the heat and I told her maybe Alaska would be cooler!  HAHA!!!! We will be going to upstate New York, wine country, for a few days meeting up with a dear friend of hers from Buffalo and on Friday she and I will be headed to NYC to see Cirque Du Soleil:  Zarkana.  Lucky for us she was watching the news and low and behold they were talking about it.  A text and phone call later and walla! we have tickets.  This is a new show for Cirque.  I've been to their show in Orlando called La Nouba and all I can say is WOW!  I will probably have to see it a second time because of everything that takes place. So stay tuned for some fun pictures, I hope.  I just have to remember to take the camera like a good blogger!  Have a great week and stay cool my friends!!

Dexter.....update...

Well, still nothing from the vet.  They said the fur testing could take up to 3 weeks.  Hopefully we will know soon.  If nothing from the fur testing then back to have more blood drawn for other tests.  Apparently when they drew blood the first time they did not think to test for everything.  Time to see one of the other vets in the practice.  He does not seem to be bothered by it....it still eats and drinks, chases the dogs and oh yeah he does sleep a lot.  But isn't that what cats do, especially older ones. I will keep you posted as we hear any news.  Have a great day and stay cool!

such a cat he is....Here he is just relaxing in the morning sun under a plant (in the house).  Although he we love, love, love to be outside we are limiting his outside time for a few reasons....its to blasted hot and he has started to lose his fur on his belly.  It looks like he was shaved and we are not sure why.   Blood work was done and came back okay now just waiting for the test results on his fur.  Who knows......enjoy your day.

Busy summer..

How about you?  I hope everyone is having a great summer.  It's been busy here in PA.   You see while in Florida I made a list of what I wanted to get done the few months I would be here but as many of you know that list always changes and mine was not exception. The list was to paint the family room and get new carpet and then paint and get the carpet cleaned in my daughter's bedroom.  The family room is paneled so I knew it would be at least a 2 week project.  So as I settled back in and started looking around the main level of the house.  My friend Beverly, you have met her before during the dining room ceiling change, she kept telling me "take the wallpaper off the bottom half of the dining room walls, it will look so much more elegant."  The top half (above the chair rail) is painted.  So I thought okay.........one day later the wallpaper was off and I was calling her asking okay now what. The now what was to then scrub the backing a...

Happy first day of summer.....

You would have thought that summer started about a month ago with the high temperatures across the country.  But oh no, officially it starts today at 1:16PM.   Happy Summer everyone!!!!!

On the road again...

Image
Well I was on the road earlier this week.  I'm back and settled in Pennsylvania but only for a few short months then back to Florida.  You see that job I had in the Sunshine State....they are going to hold the position for me and welcome me back with open arms right after Labor Day.  Woohoo....Life is good.  As for the duck; well when I left she was still sitting on an empty nest.  So how long will she stay there until she realizes there are no ducklings?  Does anyone know?  I'm looking forward to getting back to my blog along with jewelry and candle making.  So stay tuned.....Have a great weekend!

The duck story ....

It's been about 3 weeks since my last post about the mama duck.  The really sad part is she is still sitting on the empty nest.  It is truly a sad, sad thing to see.  I hope some day she will realize there is nothing there and waddle off to the pond behind the building to be with the rest of the gang.
