Hot and humid sunrise....

Image
This was Thursday's sunrise at about 6AM.  Just another hot and humid day in the mid-Atlantic.  The temperature was already in the mid 70's.  Now I do know a little geography and I do know that Pennsylvania has not moved into the southern region of the country; at least last time I checked.  Our temperatures are more like Florida the past month without the threat of hurricanes or even afternoon thunderstorms. So while we get a wee bit of a break today, Friday, meaning lower humidity it will only be back tomorrow.  I did see a weather report for next week with temperatures in the mid 70's.  I could have been dreaming about temperatures in the 70's.  So I will wait and see.  So to my followers in the other regions of the country that are getting rain, please, please send it our way....my grass is already turning brown and that usually happens in August....Have a great day!!

Just creating....

I was looking at the various types of photography software and there are many.  Plus which one is the one for me.  After reading Hey Harriet's blog and looking at how neat her photo's were in a collage.  I sent a quick email to Hey Harriet asking her what she used.  She replied with her choice of Picasa.  She indicated that it is easy to use plus and a big plus at that... it is free .  After downloading and then adding all my photos to it, which I have realized I have a lot, I just created this little collage of my lillies. I know it is not all that but I'm still in a learning curve and it was very easy.  So stop on over to http://heyharriet.blogspot.com and check out what she is up to.  Have a great day....

Birds...and unfortunate endings

The Morning Dove; just hanging out enjoying what he things is going to be just another great day.  The warm sun, finding bits of food, ahhhh   life is good.... Then just when you least expect it; he is gone.  I mean poof...nothing but a pile of feathers...yes folks  just feathers.  The time from when I had been outside to the pile of feathers was about 20 minutes.  My neighbor tells me it was probably the hawk that resides in the wooded area behind their home.  Was the hawk watching me, good luck getting me off the ground.  So look out my little dogs...be aware be very aware. .

Happy dog....

Just trying out my hand held video cam....awesome...so of course my first post will be of the dog(s).  Jackson, from the backside, running back to Colby..... Have a great day.....

Flowers, flowers....

Ready or not summer is around the corner.  Just a sign that it has arrived; the lillies are from my flower beds.  What started out as a single leftover lilly several years ago has grown into this huge lilly.  I love the pink color.  I added an tiger lilly a few years later and now that one is spreading into another big one. Enjoy and have a great rest of your day !!

Here is Colby with his new safety vest on.  Now he is ready for boating.  Doesn't he look smashing!  Jackson's vest is on back order.

Summer is around the corner...

Based on the weather and high temperatures we have been having on the east coast you would think that summer was here.  However looking at the calendar we still have about 9 days until the official start of summer. But you can tell when summer is close because my lavender plant is in full bloom.  I love the smell; so relaxing... But you have to watch out because the bees are a buzzin' at the lavender plant.... Happy summer to all in blogland!!!!

Boating.....

Here we are in June already; where has the past 5 months gone!  As spring approaches and the snow has melted we start thinking about where we may want to spend time with friends cruising the Chesapeake Bay on our boat.   Her name is "Non-Cents" and we've owned her for 11 years.   My, my, my how time flies. She sleeps at least 6 people although we have never had that many people stay over at one time.  We have an inflatable boat we hang off the back to get around in places that is not deep enough to get with the big boat plus we need something to get the dogs to shore when we anchor out for the night or a weekend.  We spend weekends on the boat even if we do not leave the slip. We have met many great people along with way.  She is big enough to live aboard but I have not convinced my husband to give up his land legs and try for a year.  As he puts it "where is the garage"!  Believe me when you buy an older boat there are plenty of things that need fixing and the
